Stop Motion Animation
LEGO stop motion animation is a filmmaking technique where LEGO sets and minifigures are brought to life by
taking individual photos, moving the models slightly between each frame, and playing them in sequence.
Students will be exposed to cinematography, lighting, camera focus, how to create story lines, develop
characters, sound effects, special effects, computer science, and how to make and edit Stop Motion Animation
videos utilizing LEGO. This class will foster problem-solving, multitasking, creativity, and experimentation.
Students will learn to turn real-life events into animated films.
Required Items: Each student will need a device that can utilize the stop motion studio pro and can take photos. The student is also required to purchase a $6.00 app for this class.
Fees: $20 Supply Fee includes a LEGO minifigure, LEGO 10” plate, LEGO bricks for building sets for the background
of your video.

I am Kyan Boon. This is my fourth year at ECHO. I am 18 years old. I co-own Bricker Bricker 1-9 a buy and sell
anything LEGO store in the Village Oaks plaza. I have been making stop motion animation videos since I was
10 years old and this year I made the official music video for “Walking down the Street" by Lucas Ross. I have
been a guest teacher at local LEGO stores, homeschool co-ops, and offer workshops at our own store .
Growing up in a military family, I have lived in seven states from Oceanside, California to Charleston, South
Carolina.
