Speech and Debate

Fees: $35/month tuition. No supply fee.
Course Description: To develop winsome speakers who can deliver a sound answer for the hope that dwells within them, critically think through why they believe what they believe, clearly express themselves in their own creative voice, and value voices expressed in literature and philosophy throughout history. Students will learn various formats of debate, including Lincoln Douglas, Parliamentary, and Team Policy. Speech types include everything from a business-type presentation to a dramatic interpretation. The goal is for students to find their speaking niche. Students are not required to compete to be a part of the class. Either way, they will be gaining greater knowledge of how to research, write, be Biblically literate, work with teammates and process current events in an enjoyable, active, and positive environment.
