PREREQUISITE: Having at least a First-Grade reading level is helpful, but with more parent involvement, beginning readers do fine. They do need to be able to recognize and write their letters. Course Description: Weekly lessons have vocabulary introduced through songs (and a few chants) and have some written work. Over 100 words are introduced throughout the book, with a focus on relevant, everyday vocabulary. We will practice our songs and play with our new words in class each week and do a little in their workbooks. I also have handouts for them in class and they can sing their songs at home as well.
