PRE-ALGEBRA (1-1/2 hour class)

Textbook: Saxon Algebra 1/2 Homeschool 3rd Edition (Light and Dark Blue Book Cover)
Course Description: Math skills are something that a person will carry with them throughout their life. It is a foundational subject that constantly builds on itself. This course offers a review of key mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions, decimals, and percents. It introduces students to the fundamentals of Algebra such as square roots, exponents, negative numbers, order of operations, and equations.
I believe that it is important for students to work on math each day. The Saxon math book used in this class teaches a new concept with each lesson. I try to cover 3-4 lessons each Tuesday. There will be work assigned for each lesson, to be completed at home, with each lesson containing approximately 30 problems. This means students will have math work throughout the week between our class time on Tuesdays.
