SAXON MATH 5/4
Instructor
: Tonja Cousins

Grade: 4th grade
Fees: $35/month tuition, PLUS a $15 Copy fee due by October

Textbook: Saxon 5/4 Homeschool 3rd Edition (Yellow and Blue Book cover) Course Description: Math skills are something that a person will carry with them throughout their life. It is a foundational subject that constantly builds on itself. This is a math class that will expand on previously learned math concepts of addition and subtraction. Students will be introduced to a variety of grade appropriate mathematical concepts including multiplication, division, place value, regrouping, fact families, fractions, decimals, basic geometry, measurement, word problems, and more.
I believe that it is important for students to work on math each day. The Saxon math book used in this class teaches a new concept with each lesson. I try to cover approximately 3 lessons each week. There will be work assigned for each lesson, to be completed at home, with each lesson containing approximately 25 problems. This means students will have math work throughout the week between our class time on Tuesdays.
