Kindergarten – Enroll in Morning OR Afternoon (this is not an all day class) **Kindergarten Curriculum will cover language, reading, and math**
Instructor: Sarah Kriwanek
Grade: Kindergarten – Students must be 5 years old on the first day of class
Fees: $70/month tuition, PLUS a one-time $40 supply fee to cover snacks, craft supplies, copied materials, etc.
Course material: Tailored language, reading, and math for each student.
Course Description:
The same thing will be taught in the morning class and afternoon class. This is not an all- day class. You may enroll in either the morning 10-12pm time slot or the afternoon 1:45- 3:45pm time slot.
Our class is structured around hands-on centers for the students to focus on logic, sensory, construction, and imagination while interacting with one another.
We incorporate language and reading during the first hour with show-and-tell time, letter of the day and songs from Hooked on Phonics, custom binder work that is tailored to the student’s learning level (writing ABC’s, literacy, reading, etc.), and read-aloud time that includes a fictional story and a lesson from God’s Word.
We take a short bathroom break after the first hour of class, in preparation for snack time. Snacks are provided each week, and tend to intertwine with the letter of the day.
We incorporate math during the second hour of class with calendar time, number of the day, and custom binder work that is tailored to the student’s learning level (writing numbers, simple addition and subtraction, tally marks, ten frames, skip counting, shapes, etc).
We practice the Pledge of Allegiance, days of the week, months of the year, and a monthly memory verse together each week.
The year is also sprinkled with games, crafts, and fun activities based on seasons and holidays.
