Course Description:
Writing should be enjoyable. The goal of this class is to develop a love of writing through fun and motivating writing activities. This creative writing class will incorporate the basics of writing through seasonal journals, story elements, paragraph writing, letter writing, newspaper articles, note taking, and more. Many of the lessons in this course include craft projects, so artwork and drawings are encouraged to help make the writing process fun for the students. A read aloud and novel study of Jean Craighead George’s My Side of the Mountain is also incorporated throughout the year.
