The Reluctant Writer

Writing should be enjoyable. The goal of this class is to develop a love of writing through fun and motivating writing activities. This creative writing class will incorporate the basics of writing – parts of speech, 5 W’s + H, rhyming, acronyms, story elements, letter writing, summarizing a story, synonyms and antonyms, comparatives and superlatives, poetry, how-to essays, etc.

We will do some crafts in conjunction with our lessons. Artwork and drawings are encouraged to help make the writing process fun for the students. I also provide storyboard sheets for several of our lessons so that students can show me their stories as they unfold.

Journals and prompts are provided for each student, and there is time during class for students to journal each week.
