This writing class is for 4th - 6th graders (6th graders, please check the middle school writing description to pick the best fit).
The first semester will focus on using engaging writing prompts to build sentence writing skills into structured paragraphs using organizers. We will utilize some grammar lessons as needed, with the focus being on writing.
The second semester will build from using one paragraph to five structured paragraphs to complete easy essays. Students will also be introduced to proofreading editing skills.
The goal is writing with confidence by using organization tools and fun topics.
Some homework is required. Approx. 30-90 minutes weekly. All classroom news and homework will be emailed on Tuesday.

1 yellow highlighter
1 pink highlighter
Wide ruled notebook paper
Small .50 - 1 inch 3-ring binder
Pencils
Red pen
Small thesaurus or dictionary/thesaurus
