This New Testament course for high school students offers a comprehensive examination of the primary texts that constitute the Christian scriptures, focusing on the Gospels/Acts, the Pauline Epistles, and the General Epistles/Revelation. Students will learn about the historical, cultural, and theological contexts of key New Testament writings, exploring themes such as the life and teachings of Jesus, the formation of early Christian doctrine, and the development of the Christian Church. Students will learn by attending the lectures, reading the New Testament, and the use of other supplemental resources when needed. This is a yearlong course. There will be assigned readings, papers, and tests.
About me: Hello! My name is Alec Auwen, and I am the Minister of students and families at First Baptist Church Midwest City. I graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and Theology. I am currently enrolled at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where I am getting my Masters. In addition to my education, I served as the youth minister at Eastwood Baptist church for 2 years before I got hired at FBC MWC. I am married and my wife works at Oklahoma Heart Hospital on the north side of OKC. We have two cats named Thumper and Gravy and we LOVE them. Super excited to see you all in the fall!!!
