Chemistry and Physics for Middle Grades
Text: “Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics” by Jeannie Fulbright (The required text is written for younger students, however, this class IS designed for 7th-8th grade students.)
Tuition and Fees: $35.00 per month. This course has a $40 supply and lab fee due at the beginning of the school year.
Course Description:
This course aims to 1) teach introductory Chemistry and Physics, and, 2) prepare students for the rigors of high school science courses by emphasizing student accountability and responsibility for their own work. Using Jeannie Fulbright’s “Exploring Creation With Chemistry and Physics”, and with additional texts provided by the teacher, this course focuses on applying textual information in a lecture setting as well as a lab setting (be sure to dress appropriately, some experiments can be messy!). We will cover: Matter, Compound Chemistry, Motion, Energy, Magnetism and Machines. Students will also create their own experiment(s) based on their own original question!
